Founded May 30, 1923 as the Buryat-Mongolian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic 7

Capital - the city of Ulan-Ude.

The number of Buryatia population - 982 284 1 people. (2016).

It bordered on the west, north and east with the subjects of the Russian Federation - the Republic of Tuva, the Irkutsk region (with pyatisotkilometrovym site in the waters of the lake) and the Trans-Baikal Territory. The southern border of Buryatia and Mongolia is the state border of the Russian Federation.
